The origins of Lloyds British International date back to 1812, when the company was formed by the Association of the Wrought Iron Chain Manufacturers and traded under the name of ‘Staffordshire Public Chain and Anchor Testing Company”.
The purpose of the testing and certification company was to ensure that the chain and anchors which were manufactured for the British Navy achieved a minimum standard of tensile strength, and certification would be issued to verify the safety of the equipment.
With origins dating back over 200 years, we have acquired the technical expertise, knowledge, and significant experience over the course of its history to enable it to become a globally recognised brand.
